$20,000 in grants will benefit departments in communities served by Connecticut Water
CLINTON, Conn., Oct. 28, 2024 —Connecticut Water invites firefighters to apply for the 2025 Firefighter Support Grant Program to support their vital work serving our communities. Founded in 2020, the program has awarded more than $82,000 in grants to thirty-six departments across the state.
“Local firefighters and their departments have dedicated themselves to protecting lives and property in their communities and provide an essential service,” said Craig J. Patla, Connecticut Water President. “We are committed to supporting them through this grant program, which provides funding for training and equipment, so they can be safe and effective when fighting fires.”
The program will award up to $20,000 in 2025 to uniformed volunteer or paid departments in communities served by Connecticut Water to help fund the purchase of slow-close hydrant valves, backflow preventers, isolation valves, water handling equipment or other firefighting tools and educational materials.
Applications are due by March 1, 2025. For complete information and to download an application, visit the Firefighter Support Grant Program web page.
This program is funded as part of the company’s Charitable Giving program, and is not recovered through customer rates.
