Connecticut Water hosts open house wastewater treatment facility
Heritage Village facility treats nearly 150 million gallons of wastewater each year
Southbury, Conn., Oct. 21, 2024 — Connecticut Water Company welcomes customers to learn about the wastewater treatment process directly from our experts during an open house at the Heritage Village Wastewater Facility in Southbury on Wednesday Oct. 30.
The facility handles wastewater from more than 3,000 customers, treating more than 150 million gallons of wastewater each year. After a major upgrade in 2013, the facility treats wastewater from 33 miles of sewer lines.
Come meet our dedicated team of Connecticut Water professionals. They will guide you through the facility and demonstrate how biosolids are safely removed and treated in our system.

The event is free and open to the public. Guests can come any time during the 1-3 p.m. window. Because the Heritage Village Wastewater Treatment Facility is an operational worksite, everyone must wear closed-toe, flat shoes for their own safety. Additionally, the facility is not wheelchair accessible.
