Construction at the new Heritage Village Drinking Water Treatment Facility.SOUTHBURY, Conn., — Construction of a new drinking water treatment facility in Heritage Village continues to move along on schedule to be operational in the fall of 2025. The facility will improve water quality and reliability for customers in the Heritage Village water system customers.

Construction at the new Heritage Village Drinking Water Treatment Facility.The Heritage Village water system is comprised of five groundwater wells capable of producing 2 million gallons per day to more than 5,400 customers, about half of which reside in the Heritage Village Master Association. The existing water treatment facility will continue operating during the construction project until all wells can be redirected through the new treatment facility.

Existing wells will supply the new facility, which, when complete, will allow for more effective filtration of manganese and iron, both naturally-occurring components of groundwater. This multimillion dollar investment in infrastructure will Improve water clarity and taste for customers.
